St Vincent Lodge No. 5295 Home OMNI BONA BONIS “All good things to good men”

The original suggestions for the lodge name were either Mount Calvary or Atlas.

Both names were turned down by Grand or Provincial Grand Lodge. Mount Calvary because of its religious connotations and Atlas because in mythology he was a wicked man who was forced to carry the World on his back. As the son of the Founding Secretary had been training in the Naval Establishment H.M.S. ST. VINCENT and some of the Founders’ early discussions had taken place there, amongst masons on the staff, this name was offered as a further choice and accepted.

Why St Vincent?
